Mrs. Bozzay (Librarian)

Education & Work: Mrs. Bozzay has a Master's of Library & Information Science from San Jose State University, a Teaching Credential from CSU San Marcos, and an Educational Administration Credential from CSU San Marcos. Before deciding to work at the SMHS library, Mrs. Bozzay worked as a high school English teacher.

Life: Mrs. Bozzay grew up in Carlsbad and has been a North County resident for most of her life. She currently lives in Escondido with her husband, son, cat, and fish.

Hobbies: Mrs. Bozzay loves to read. Her favorite books include The Count of Monte Cristo, The Awakening, A Hundred Years of Solitude, and the Left Behind series. Mrs. Bozzay also loves to laugh. Her favorite comedy is "What about Bob?" She also enjoys traveling, culinary arts, and going for day trips with her family.

 Mrs. Brett (Library Media Technician)

Education & Work: Mrs. Brett has an AA in Library Science from Palomar College and a BA in Literature and Writing Studies from Cal State San Marcos. She is currently attending San Jose State University in order to attain a Master’s of Library & Information Science. Mrs. Brett previously ran the Knob Hill Elementary Library and has worked for the district for the past ten years.

Life: Mrs. Brett lives in San Marcos with her husband and three cats. She has three children, a daughter and two sons, all of whom have graduated from San Marcos High School.

Hobbies: Mrs. Brett enjoys playing Scrabble, traveling, scrapbooking, going to plays, and watching the Tour de France. Her favorite books are The Poisonwood Bible and The Chronicles of Narnia.

Mrs. Castaneda (Library Assistant)

Education & Work: Mrs. Castaneda has worked in the district for 18 years and has worked as a library assistant for the last 10 years. Before working in the library, Mrs. Castaneda worked with ESL students for 7 years.

Life: Mrs. Castaneda grew up in Solana Beach and has a lot of family in the North County area. She has two daughters and a son, all of whom have attended SMHS.

Hobbies: Mrs. Castaneda enjoys watching old black and white movies. She also enjoys traveling and using her timeshare throughout the world. Mrs. Castaneda likes to peruse reference books.

Mrs. Lowery (Textbook Clerk)

Education & Work: Mrs. Lowery is new to SMHS and to the San Marcos School District. She has an AA in Legal Secretary and an AA in Administrative Assistant. Prior to coming to SMHS, her background has been in Human Resources.

Life: Mrs. Lowery grew up in Leucadia and has lived in North County most of her life. She resides in San Marcos with her husband and daughter.

Hobbies: Mrs. Lowery enjoys quilting, rubber stamping, scrapbooking, altered and mixed-media arts. She enjoys spending time with her family. She loves to read. Her favorite book is The Runaway Quilt.
